Chim My  //  “But the most significant derivation from the meaning of as ‘water’ is the concept of people who have gathered near a body of water to grow rice for one another, and founding a stable community, sharing rain and drought, plenty and famine, peace and war: from ‘water,’ its basic meaning, has come to designate ‘the homeland, the country, the nation.’ It is in this ultimate acception that the monosyllable nước reverberates throught the deepest and farthest recesses of the Vietnamese collective unconscious and stirs there the most potent feelings. The nation’s fateful course, marked by ups and downs, is figuratively rendered as a ‘tide of water’ (vận nước) with its ebb and flow. The highest virtue demanded of a Vietnamese is that he or she ‘love the nước‘ (yêu nước).” –Huynh Sanh Thong (no relation)

Vietnam always on that come up whatitdoodoo

I can tell what websites are most popular simply based on what my co-workers are looking at during breaktime:

Music websites so they can stream
Video game websites, I've seen one gal play something akin to Dance Dance Revolution, only with your keyboard

In the past couple of months, I've seen more and more of my co-workers signing up with facebook (which naturally prompted me to take down my otherwise questionable images). Lately, they've gotten me into that effin Happy Farm game, where you plant crops, steal other friends crops, sell them to earn money so you can buy puppies and pickup trucks.

And again, Vietnam is on one of these top 10 lists in terms of most rapid growth and yes, this is the second time Vietnam has beaten Thailand (in addition to the best soccer match-up in recent Vietnam history). Huzzah!
