Bucket in Disguise
One day I woke up to this bucket of water occupying my bathroom like an unsanctioned foreign battalion. Like the pacifist I am, I just let it occupy "my space" thinking: "the housekeeper keeps it here for some reason."
Oh yeah, and I'm lazy. Low and behold, tonight, I've run out of water for showering, teeth brushing and the numero dos...here, at my side, stands my cherie amour, my angel in red, my always down Jackie Brown. I'll never doubt you again toots.Something about the bucket, the fact that it was never used...it would somehow prove useful, I just didn't know in what way and when.
Red Water Buckets come in many different forms in our lives, no?
A book you have yet to open.
The phone number from a middle school friend you have stashed in your organizer.
The frequent flyer miles.
The words you have saved for a stranger.
